Terms and conditions

These terms explain how orders, commissions, shipping, and returns work when you buy from Dragonfly Art. By placing an order, you agree to them.

Jump to the Privacy information section

Age restriction

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.

Cancelling an order

If you wish to cancel an order please do so within 12 hours of submitting it.

Commissions

If you have a specific colour scheme in mind for a book (e.g. notebook, sketchbook, wedding guest book), please get in touch. I have a wide range of options available, and can share photos of suitable papers, based on your colour and style preferences, or, within reason, research other options for you.

I may also share photos with you as I make your item to check progress, but please note refunds are not possible once the work has started (see Returns).

I work in small batches so I don’t disappear under a tower of books. I can also take simple linocut commissions for book covers and cards. Please note I am self-taught so if I don’t feel confident creating something I will tell you straight away.

For bespoke relief print book cover I will share initial designs with you for approval before continuing. Any previews or design discussions are intended as a guide, and due to the handmade nature of the work, the final piece may vary slightly.

Lead times for commissions are longer because ink and glue take time to dry. I will discuss timelines with you during the commissioning process. Notebooks with original linocut designs incur additional cost due to the extra time involved.

Contacting Dragonfly Art

• Email: [email protected]

• Shop name: Dragonfly Art

• Location: UK-based small business

Intellectual property

All artwork and books remain the intellectual property of Dragonfly Art and may not be reproduced, scanned or resold commercially. You are very welcome to share your purchase on social media.

Legal jurisdiction

All purchases and interactions with this shop are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. By placing an order, you agree that any disputes or claims will be handled under UK law.

That said, I always aim to resolve any problems directly and amicably – so if something isn’t right, please get in touch first and I’ll do my best to help.

Liability limitations

I take great care in creating and packaging each item, but there are some limits to what I can be responsible for:

• I’m not liable for delays once an order has been dispatched, including postal delays or customs processing.

• I’m not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses (for example, if an item arrives later than expected and misses a specific date or occasion).

• My liability is limited to the value of the item purchased.

Nothing in these terms is intended to limit your rights under UK consumer law.

Order acceptance

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. If I am unable to fulfil your order, I reserve the right to cancel it and issue a full refund.

Pricing and payment

All items are priced in GBP (£). Payment is taken at checkout and I accept:

• Credit or debit card

• Apple Pay

Sales are processed securely via Stripe.

Quality

Due to the handmade nature of my prints, cards and notebooks, slight variations may occur. For example, ink speckling can occur when using textured paper, and all notebook components are cut by hand.

These small variations are part of each item’s character and not considered defects. If you are concerns please get in touch.

Returns

I hope you love your purchase, but if not:

For non-bespoke items, you have the right to cancel and return your order within 14 days of receiving it, in line with UK consumer law. Items must be returned unused and in their original condition. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. The 14-day cancellation period begins the day after you receive your order.

Returns are not accepted for:

• Change of mind on bespoke or commissioned items

• Natural variations in handmade items (see Quality).

All bespoke (commissioned) items are made to order and can only be returned if incorrect.

If an item is faulty or not as described, please contact me and I will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund in line with your rights under UK consumer law.

To arrange a return or cancellation, please email me at [email protected] with your order number. Please contact me as soon as possible after receiving your order if there is an issue.

Shipping and postage

I aim to dispatch in-stock domestic orders within 2-3 days. Bespoke items (see Commissions) will take longer, and international delivery times vary by destination. You will receive confirmation once your order has been dispatched.

Notebooks and prints are sent out via Royal Mail’s tracked service (Tracked 24 or Tracked 48). Cards are sent via standard Royal Mail (first or second class).

Dispatch times refer to the time it takes me to prepare your order. Shipping times are additional and begin once your order has been dispatched.

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate delivery information. I cannot be held responsible for non-delivery due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.

If additional details are required to complete delivery and are not provided, I may cancel the order and issue a full refund.

For international orders, customs fees or taxes may apply and are the responsibility of the customer.

If your parcel is lost or damaged, please get in touch within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your tracking number (if available). I will assist in raising a claim with the delivery provider where appropriate, although I cannot influence delivery issues once the parcel has been dispatched.

Sustainability

I strive to keep my practice as sustainable as possible while recognising that the nature of my work means I rely on certain materials – such as paper and ink. I source these materials from reputable organisations, such as GF Smith, who are a B Corp certified company, and support independent art suppliers, where possible, such as Ironbridge Fine Arts & Framing, Intaglio Printmaker and Shepherds.

Prints and cards are packaged in compostable sleeves and recyclable cardboard. Backing boards are made from offcuts and reused materials wherever possible.

Uncollected/returned parcels

If an item is returned to me due to an incorrect address or failure to collect it from the delivery service, I can resend it, but additional postage costs will apply.
