Handprinted cornflower notebook
Handmade 13.5x13.5cm plain paper notebook or sketchbook with 176 pages.
The cover features an original linocut print of a cornflower, drawn, carved and printed by me on Hereford book paper using a bespoke deep blue ink mix.
This is a very smooth, soft white paper made in the UK. The spine and back are lined with a light grey bookcloth. Inside, the endpapers are made with GF Smith Colorplan in Cobalt and the paper is plain and made from 120gsm Munken Pure - Smooth Ivory. It includes a pale blue ribbon.
Printmaking with lino is a manual craft that requires specialist tools and inks. The nature of the process means that each print is unique and may feature some speckling. This is part of what makes this artform so beautiful.
I make every notebook by hand, from folding and sewing the internal papers together to make the 'text block' through to selecting and cutting papers and book cloth, which I then use to build the final covers. Each notebook is unique and there may be slight variations from the book shown in photos. However, the photos do show each key aspect of the book to help you see what you are buying.
I only make a handful of notebooks at a time so if this is out of stock I will get in touch to discuss making one for you. This will increase the delivery time as the book takes a few days to construct, the glue to dry and the book to press flat.
All notebooks are posted in a protective book envelope.
